It is no secret that young Frank Pike is potty about the cinema. There isn’t a film shown since 1935 that he hasn’t seen or won’t tell you about.
We cannot show all those films that young Frank has watched over the years - but we do have a collection of Dad’s Army related video clips for you to enjoy.
Just remember to stand for the National Anthem at the end.

Britain’s Best Sitcom: Phill Jupitus presents the case for Dad’s Army as the best sitcom. Part of a major public vote to find the country’s favourite sitcom, Dad’s Army was voted into the top-ten of British situation comedies and eventually finished in fourth place trailing behind more recent programmes: Only Fools & Horses, Blackadder and The Vicar of Dibley (yes, really!). An excellent programme featuring Frank Williams.

Grandad: after Dad’s Army had finished Clive Dunn, looking for a new project, approached Bob Block the writer of long-running children’s show Rentaghost. Between them they came up with Grandad a children’s programme centred on Charlie Quick, the doddery but mischievous caretaker of a municipal hall. The character of Quick owed much to Cpl Jones, employing similar verbal mistakes and mannerisms. The humour was very visual and slapstick and there were some nice supporting performances. The programme ran to 4 series. Here you can see the edited highlights of an episode from the last series, in 1983, in which Clive Dunn is accompanied by another Dad’s Army stalwart - Pamella Cundell
