Walmington-on-Sea Library

Located in the High Street, not far from the museum, the Library is nothing more than a rough-built wooden hut, housing a few hundred books. Much frequented by Private Godfrey’s sisters Dolly and Cissy it is a place where books and gossip can be exchanged in equal measure - not that the Godfrey sisters would ever stoop to anything as uncouth as gossip.

Dad’s Army has been the subject of many books, published from the early 1970s to the present day. Also there are many books concentrating, in whole or in part, on the British homefront during WWII. Here at the library you will find information on the books which have helped in the construction of this site, with information on availability.
