50 Moments That Made Dad’s Army: #30 Lust

There could hardly be two more different characters than Godfrey and Frazer. They may the platoon’s oldest members but in all other respects they are chalk-and-cheese: where Godfrey is polite, Frazer is rude. Godfrey’s gentleness is matched by Frazer’s abrasiveness. And while Godfrey always looks for the best in people, Frazer has an ear for any gossip that is going.

This is certainly true in the episode The Godiva Affair, from series 7 in which a number of the men of Walmington-on-Sea get a little distracted at the thought of Mrs Fox riding a horse down the High Street dressed only in fleshings.

When Frazer gets wind of a secret meeting between Mainwaring and Mrs Fox he puts two and two together and  concludes this can only mean one thing – Mainwaring has succumbed to the lure of the flesh! Of course this has to be relayed to Godfrey, even if it means interrupting his bedtime hot milk.
